1. Introduction

HoverPro: Secondary Image Hover ("HoverPro", "we", "our", or "us") is a Shopify application developed by Theme-X (theme-x.org). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you install and use HoverPro in your Shopify store.

By installing HoverPro, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Store Data (via Shopify API)

When you install HoverPro, we access the following data from your Shopify store to provide our service:

• Shop information — your store domain and basic shop details (for authentication and plan sync)
• App installation & billing — subscription status and plan tier (to unlock Pro hover effects on your storefront)
• Shop metafields — plan tier written to your shop so the theme extension can gate hover effects on the storefront

Authentication Data

We store an OAuth access token issued by Shopify to authenticate API requests on your behalf. Session data may include your shop domain and, for online sessions, basic staff profile fields provided by Shopify. This data is stored securely and is only shared with our infrastructure providers as described in Section 5.

Storefront Visitors

HoverPro runs as a theme app extension on your storefront. It does not collect personal information from your customers, set tracking cookies, or record visitor behavior.

Usage Data

We do not collect analytics, track individual user behavior, or use any third-party tracking or advertising tools.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect solely to provide the HoverPro service:

• Authenticate your session with Shopify
• Manage your subscription and plan tier (free or Pro)
• Sync plan status to your theme so hover effects work correctly
• Operate billing and compliance webhooks required by Shopify

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

4. Data Storage & Security

HoverPro stores minimal data — primarily your Shopify OAuth session and shop identifier, which are required to make authenticated API calls. Session data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase. The application is hosted on Vercel. Both providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security policies.

We do not permanently store your product catalog or storefront content. Plan tier is written to a Shopify shop metafield so your theme can read it. Storefront plan checks may call our app proxy at /apps/hoverpro/plan-tier to resolve subscription status; this does not collect customer personal information.

5. Data Sharing & Service Providers

We do not sell, rent, or trade your store data. We share data only with service providers that help us operate HoverPro:

• Shopify — platform APIs, billing, and app hosting within Shopify Admin
• Vercel — application hosting and request processing
• Supabase — encrypted PostgreSQL database for OAuth session storage

These providers may only use your data to deliver infrastructure services to us. We do not disclose your data to advertisers or unrelated third parties.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

When you uninstall HoverPro from your Shopify store, we automatically delete your session token and associated shop session data from our systems. Shopify may also send a shop/redact compliance webhook to remove remaining data.

7. GDPR & Customer Data

HoverPro does not store personal data about your store's customers. We comply with Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks. If Shopify requests customer data related to our app, we confirm that no customer PII is held on our servers.

8. Shopify's Role

HoverPro is built on the Shopify platform. Shopify processes your store data under their own Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review Shopify's policy to understand how Shopify handles your information.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to the data we hold about your store
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Uninstall the app at any time to stop all data processing

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of HoverPro after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
